The Pacific States Telephone Company building on 1511 SE Holgate. Brooklyn neighborhood, Portland. Built: 1892. Dig those color patterns. As part of a new ongoing series, I’m walking the streets of Portland’s Inner Eastside. First up was a 1909 Mansard-like building that just got a major structural and code overhaul (Hop in bio to read it.) For Lost Oregon, I’m walking parts of Portland’s Central Eastside, from the Willamette to Burnside, down to Division (give or take), to get inspired to write and get to know the neighborhood even better. I love a good alley, and homes that have attached businesses to them (ACUs), so this one is a good one. Brand spankin’ new. 1970s downtown Portland. Still think about this abandoned airline stairs under the Amtrak tracks in downtown Oregon City (next to Corner 14 - Spicer's at the time).
