About

Lost Oregon aims to document the history of architecture of Oregon, some buildings lost to time, others being repurposed, recast, and reused, others rising anew. (Older posts going back to 2007, not so much, but they’re staying.)

Oregon has a ton of great old commercial buildings with great bones. Let’s be creative with them instead of tearing them down.

The Guardian in the UK named Lost Oregon as one of the Best Blogs for Travelers.

Lost Oregon (when it was still Stumptown Confidential) was named in Willamette Week‘s “Best of” issue in 2005 (with the infamous Greg Oden cover).

A piece I wrote about old hotels for Travel Oregon

Brian Libby’s excellent Portland Architecture ran my piece on the (then newly) retrofitted Witherspoon building.

The Willamette Week let me write about beer for its Beer Guide.

And, for my beloved clients through the years, I’ve written blogs, social, white papers, scripts, bylined articles and more. If you’re an architect, urban planner, or small-scale developer and need help with your marketing, that’s my day job – let’s chat!
