US Bank, 1972, Astoria, Ore. “Restaurant Overlooking the Columbia River 04/1973” Portland noir versus Portland bore. As the kids say, TIL that 99W designates the westside of the *state* (not Portland - that’s just a coincidence). It has begun. Downtown Portland, 1973. It’s that time of the year again to dig this old post out of the grave! The Tiki Lodge Motel in Medford. Then and now. Still there but de-tikified. It’s one of the last remaining single-screen theaters in the Portland area and one of the few still independently owned and operated since 1973.
