Standard Plaza, 1963, downtown Portland. It was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in the international style. #midcenturymodern #midcentury #downtownportland Lousy photo but still...that (stone?) garage semi-attached to the home is pretty cool! Built in 1906, the Shleifer building was once the Chamberlain Hotel then became a furniture store for decades. It’s now renovated …back into a hotel. What I wouldn’t have given to check out what was in those boarded upstairs when they did the reno. A break in the rain and a stroll from @rusebrewing to @giganticbrewing made for a fine Sunday! #portlandbeer #seportland #railfan The former Cornelius Hotel (corner) and the Woodlark were joined a couple of years ago into a beautifully retrofitted new hotel. #adaptivereuse #historicpreservationmatters #downtownportland Flashback Friday to ...2017. Portland at-night postcards hit just right. Postmarked 1911. I'm guessing that's the Portland Hotel on the right, yeah? Fun with Google Street View - then and now. Some color on my walk through the neighborhood yesterday. Love it. #localartist
