The Fontaine, one of Portland’s rare mid-century towers, has a condo on the market. Designed by Mid Barbour, one of Oregon’s first female architects, and built in 1963 by Richard “Dick” Smith, The Fontaine represents a “fabulous style, 60’s architectural innovation and was the first high-rise on Portland’s east side.”
I’ve always liked this spot, just for the fact that I’d never tell people the address if I lived here.
I’d just tell them “I live at The Fontaine.” 😀
