The ‘1847 Food Park’ food carts proposed for downtown Milwaukie

December 2024 update: Portland Business Journal confirms it.

Well, this is exciting news for Milwaukie residents.

A food cart pod is being proposed on the now-demolished site of Peake Funeral Chapel.

Here’s more from the pre-app:

The 1847 Food Park is proposed for 1925 SE Scott Street, the former home of Peake Funeral Chapel, now demolished. The name “1847 Food Park” honors the year Milwaukie was first settled by the Luelling family.

The project includes two permanent structures designed to take advantage of the existing topography and “ruins” left by the old chapel.

A multi-story taproom is also part of the pre-app. There’s a hopping taproom across the street, Beer Store Milwaukie, so it’s unclear how THAT might play out.

Also, the now-emptied City Hall in the historic brick building down the street is going to be empty until spring 2025, when Pfriem opens.
