I love stories like this. ⁣ ⁣ In the most southern section of #clackamascounty sits Whiskey Hill, a nickname, given to an actual hill where, legend has it, there was a still built during Prohibition. And now a local couple is revitalizing the 1920s schoolhouse there. See link in bio for a new post! ⁣ ⁣ #restoringthestore #whiskeyhillstore #whiskeyhilloregon #oregonhistory #clackamashistory #adaptivereuse #deserve2preserve
1920s farmhouse on nearly a quarter acre in Oak Grove back on the market. Got to tour this a couple years ago. A real charmer. (Not my pic.) #archi_ologie #portlandhistory #oregonhistory #oldhomes #vintagehome #historicpreservation #oakgroveoregon
“There are a few homes where a bottle or two of pure beer wouldn’t be a welcome part of the Thanksgiving dinner.” Hop Gold Beer, brewed in Vancouver, WA, 1911. Happy Thanksgiving! #vanwa #pdxbeer #vanwabeer #beer
Interviewed the new owners of The Whiskey Hill Store (former school circa 1924-25). They’re restoring the former school and residence and plan on opening a community center as well. What a great story! Look for link soon. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #thisplacematters #deserve2preserve #adaptivereuse #historicpreservation #clackamascounty #clackamashistory
Watched this former tree stump all summer long getting transformed into a wyld sculpture on the Trolley Trail in Oak Grove. #publicart #chainsawcarving #oakgroveoregon #owl
I’m a sucker for this kind of building. Simple, cool false front, built in 1915. It’s for sale. The Hook, Line N Sinker, downtown Garibaldi. Not my pics. I bet there a lot of stories to tell. #oregonhostory #garibaldioregon #traveloregon
